My drive to create art is an expression of the challenges my ancestors endured. I am a Chicana Mestiza artist who was born in California during the historic and tumultuous human rights era of the 1960’s. As the granddaughter of immigrants, and the daughter of a social worker and politician, I fell in love with the pioneering spirit of the immigrant and the stories of faith passed down to me. I was taken with the history of Mexico and the USA, and It has compelled me to create work that reflects those themes.

The intersection of social justice issues as they relate to race, religion, and politics inspire my works. My Art with Conscience ®  works are based in acrylic, mixed media, oil, and digital manipulation mediums.  

I love the freedom of expression that art provides and the conversations my art inspires.
